Last night, I was invited to the Women's Culinary Network Event hosted by Cacao Barry Chocolate and Bonnie Gordon College. Let me just say, a room filled with women and chocolate is way too much fun!! The ladies were led though a chocolate tasting of Cacao Barry Origin Chocolates before attending the chocolate demo presented by Marissa Scibetta of Bonnie Gordon College. The real fun began once the ladies started getting "dirty!"

Origin Chocolate is when all of the cacao beans are grown and processed in one country. Just like wine, the terroir (factors such as soil & climate) dramatically enhances the flavour profile of the chocolate. You may have a 70% from Cuba that tastes very different than at 70% Saint Domingue.

The ladies had an opportunity to make Hazelnut Ganache and roll their own truffles. I had the extremely hard job of walking around and sampling each tables truffles! It was lovely to have all of these wonderful, food passionate women together in one room and working together. Looking forward to the next event
